Bradford Newman

Bradford Newman was one of the most dominant and decorated athletes in Manasquan High School history, earning 10 varsity letters in football, basketball, and baseball. On the football field, Newman was a nightmare for opposing offenses and quarterbacks alike, setting school records that still stand: 29.5 career sacks, 21.5 sacks in a single season, 86 career tackles for loss, and 103 career quarterback pressures.

As a defensive lineman and tight end, Newman earned the AP All-State 1st Team, Star-Ledger All-State 1st Team, and Asbury Park Press Shore Conference Player of the Year in 2006. He earned 1st Team All-Shore both in 2005 and 2006 and was a key contributor to back-to-back NJ State Championship teams in those same years. He received the Peter Blocksom Roetzel Memorial Football Award as team MVP.

Newman also contributed to MHS basketball's 2003 State Championship and had an outstanding senior baseball season — batting .300 with a team-leading 28 RBIs and winning the Team MVP Award. His all-around excellence earned him the 2006-2007 Coast Star Male Athlete of the Year and the 2007 Manasquan High School Athlete of the Year.
