Bruce Beckman

Known throughout the Shore Conference as "The Gray Ghost," Bruce Beckman was one of the most versatile and celebrated athletes in Manasquan High School history. He competed in four varsity sports, demonstrating elite athleticism across multiple disciplines.
His basketball skills were particularly exceptional — in 1956, he was named Shore Conference Basketball MVP, the highest individual honor in the conference. His all-around excellence earned him the Peter Blocksom Roetzel Award as Manasquan's outstanding male student-athlete.
Beckman's legacy as "The Gray Ghost" endures in the Manasquan community, representing the ideal of the complete student-athlete.
