From 1968 through 1990, Scheidt served as a football coach at Manasquan High School, helping shape generations of Warriors athletes while establishing a reputation for toughness and excellence throughout Shore Conference football.

Widely respected for his work with offensive linemen, Coach Scheidt coached every Manasquan offensive lineman who earned All-Shore recognition between 1968 and 1990, along with more than 20 additional players who received Defensive First Team All-Shore honors. His ability to develop athletes both physically and mentally became one of the hallmarks of the Manasquan football program during his tenure.

Among the standout athletes coached by Scheidt were Doug Lang, Stu Whitman, Bill Kelly, Steve Koenig, Jack Algor, Tom Morton, Jim Hoos, Don Walsh, and Eric C. Scheidt. His influence also extended to several members of the Manasquan High School Hall of Fame, including Skip Whitman, Jade Landfried, the 1972 Football Team, Stewart Whitman, the 1990 Football Team, and Eric C. Scheidt.

Beyond football, Scheidt also served as a track coach at Manasquan High School, coaching shot put and discus athletes, including his son Eric C. Scheidt, who earned All-Shore honors in both 1989 and 1990.

In the classroom, Coach Scheidt was equally respected as an educator. He served as an instructor of Biology, Health, and Physical Education at Manasquan High School from 1968 through 1993. His dedication to students extended beyond athletics, helping shape the character and development of countless young men and women throughout his career.

Scheidt’s own academic and athletic accomplishments were impressive as well.
