David Tolan was the quarterback who directed two of the most memorable seasons in Manasquan High School football history. Starting at quarterback in 1989, 1990, and 1991, Tolan led the Warriors to back-to-back undefeated seasons and compiled a remarkable 38-3 career record under center.

His statistics were outstanding: 2,609 career passing yards on 154 completions in 265 attempts, 23 touchdown passes, and an additional 528 rushing yards with 14 rushing touchdowns. His 1990 season earned him the National Blue Chipper Selection, and in 1991 he was a preseason-rated national Top 250 player, earning the NY Daily News Tri-State High School All Star award and the Asbury Park Press 1st Team All Shore Conference.

Tolan also played varsity basketball and baseball for three years each, and competed in track in 1992 — a four-sport Warrior who exemplified the program's all-around excellence.
