Eji Paige-Maxilom

Few athletes have left a larger mark on Manasquan football than Eji Paige.

A four-year varsity football player and three-year starting quarterback, Paige guided the Warriors to an extraordinary 24-7 record as a starter and appeared in three state championship games, including the 1993 state title team as a sophomore quarterback. His leadership and poise under pressure helped define one of the most successful eras in program history.

Paige rewrote the Manasquan passing record book. He finished his career with 3,631 passing yards and 39 touchdown passes, both among the top marks in school history and records that stood for nearly three decades. His 1,752 passing yards in 1995 remained a single-season school record for years, while his 388 career pass attempts ranked first all-time upon graduation.

Equally impressive was his versatility. Paige contributed as a defensive back, earning All-Shore recognition on both sides of the football. In 1995, he became one of the few players in school history to earn First Team All-Shore honors at quarterback while also distinguishing himself defensively.

Beyond football, Paige excelled in baseball and basketball. As a baseball player, he stole 34 bases during his senior season, one of the highest totals in school history. His success across three sports demonstrated the complete athleticism and competitive drive that defined his career.

Paige's combination of championships, records, leadership, and versatility places him among the greatest all-around athletes ever to wear a Manasquan uniform.
