Elliot Morgan

Eliot Morgan was one of Manasquan’s most dynamic athletes of the mid-1980s, making his mark in football, baseball, and basketball.

On the football field, Morgan was a powerful and productive runner for the Big Blue. Newspaper reports from the era consistently highlighted his ability to spark the Manasquan offense, break long runs, and deliver in key games. During the 1985 season, he ranked among the Shore area’s leading rushers and scorers, finishing with 838 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns while also appearing among the area’s leading point producers.

Morgan’s impact extended beyond the stat sheet. He was repeatedly described as a hard-running and determined athlete whose play helped Manasquan regain its winning form. In several key victories, he provided important rushing production, scoring plays, and momentum-changing efforts that helped define the team’s success.

In baseball, Morgan was equally impressive. As a centerfielder, he was recognized for his hitting ability, defensive talent, and leadership. Newspaper coverage identified him as one of the key players on a Manasquan team that opened the season with significant success and competed in Shore Conference and NJSIAA tournament play. He was noted for batting over .400 and helping lead the team through one of its strongest stretches.
