Track & Field

Eric Scheidt was one of the most physically dominant two-sport athletes in Manasquan High School history. As a defensive end in 1989, he recorded 100 tackles, 24 for a loss, and 15 sacks — earning 1st Team All Shore Conference honors. The following season he transitioned to offensive guard and earned 1st Team All State recognition from the Star-Ledger and 2nd Team All State from the Associated Press in 1990.

In track and field, Scheidt was equally unstoppable in the shot put, winning the Shore Conference Championship and Monmouth County Championship in all three of his track seasons (1989, 1990, and 1991). He capped his senior track career with a 3rd place finish at the New Jersey Meet of Champions in the shot put.

Scheidt went on to play college football at Duke University, continuing a career built on rare combination of strength, athleticism, and competitive fire. His father, Coach Eric Scheidt, was himself inducted into the Manasquan Hall of Fame as the Warriors' football coach (1968–1990).
