Howard Dombroski

Howard Dombroski stands among the standout basketball players in Manasquan High School history.

A member of the Class of 1960, Dombroski was a force on the basketball court during one of the school’s earlier athletic eras. Known for his scoring ability, rebounding presence, and all-around impact, he became one of the top players in the Shore Conference and one of the most recognized basketball athletes in New Jersey during his senior season.

In 1960, Dombroski earned All-Shore First Team Basketball honors and was named All-State Second Team, placing him among the best high school basketball players in the state. That same season, he was the Shore Conference leading scorer, averaging 21 points per game, and also finished as the Shore Conference leading rebounder. His scoring production ranked him as the third-leading scorer in New Jersey in 1960.

Dombroski’s athletic contributions did not end after his playing career. He remained connected to high school athletics as an official, working at the highest levels of competition. Over the course of his officiating career, he officiated 14 state finals in football and 2 state finals in basketball, a reflection of the respect he earned for his professionalism, knowledge, and judgment.

Howard Dombroski’s Hall of Fame recognition honors both his excellence as one of Manasquan’s top basketball players and his continued service to athletics as a highly respected official.
