Kurt Fenchel

Kurt Fenchel’s coaching career reflects decades of success, leadership, and commitment to high school basketball in New Jersey.

Before arriving at Manasquan, Fenchel built an extensive coaching résumé at Irvington, Franklin, and Brick Memorial. His teams won 200 combined games, captured a Group 4 State Championship, earned multiple sectional championships, won county and conference titles, and made appearances in the Tournament of Champions. His programs were consistently ranked among the top teams in the state, and he received Coach of the Year honors in Essex, Somerset, and Ocean Counties.

Fenchel was inducted into the Irvington Hall of Fame in 1996, a reflection of the impact he made before joining Manasquan. His background included success not only in basketball, but also in track, where he coached championship athletes and relay teams.

At Manasquan, Fenchel continued his coaching career with the Warriors. During the 2000-2001 season, Manasquan finished 10-10 and placed third in Class A Central. The following year, his team improved to 19-5 and earned a share of the Class A Central Championship. His experience and leadership helped strengthen the program and guide student-athletes through a competitive era of Shore Conference basketball.
