Mark Lockenmeyer is arguably the most decorated college athlete to come from Manasquan High School. After graduating in 1977, he attended Princeton University, where he excelled in both football and baseball at an extraordinary level.

As quarterback, Lockenmeyer earned All-Ivy League honors. On the mound, he set an Ivy League ERA record of 0.33 — a record that still stands today. His dual-sport excellence earned him the William Winston Roper Trophy, awarded annually to Princeton's outstanding male student-athlete.

Lockenmeyer's baseball brilliance attracted professional attention, and he was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 11th round of the MLB Draft. His career stands as one of the most remarkable in the history of Manasquan and Ivy League athletics.
