Matt Vadas

Matt Vadas built one of the strongest basketball careers in Manasquan High School history.

A member of the Class of 2005, Vadas was a three-year varsity starter and two-time team captain whose scoring ability, leadership, and competitive toughness helped make Manasquan one of the Shore’s top basketball programs during his career.

Vadas finished with 1,527 career points, placing him among the elite scorers in program history. His ability to produce consistently, lead his team, and perform in big games made him one of the most respected players in the Shore Conference.

As a senior, Vadas helped lead Manasquan to the Central Jersey Group 2 Championship in 2009, earning MVP honors for his performance. He was also named Shore Conference Player of the Year in 2010 and earned Shore Conference First Team recognition in both 2009 and 2010.

During his time as a starter, Manasquan compiled an impressive 61-19 record, reflecting the program’s sustained success with Vadas as one of its central leaders. The Warriors also captured three Class A Central Championships, further cementing that era as one of the most successful in recent Manasquan basketball history.

Vadas’ career achievements earned him a place on the Asbury Park Press All-Decade Team, recognizing him as one of the top players of his generation.
