Michael Algor reached the pinnacle of New Jersey high school soccer in 1975, winning the Fred L. Coggin Award as the state's top player — the highest individual honor in NJ high school soccer. His 1st Team All-State selection confirmed his standing as one of the finest players of his generation.

Algor's dominance on the soccer field, combined with his play on the tennis court, made him one of the most accomplished two-sport athletes in Manasquan history. His state recognition in soccer remains one of the most prestigious honors ever achieved by a Warrior.
