Robert Weise reached the pinnacle of New Jersey high school tennis in 1976, capturing the NJ State Singles Championship. His dominant season earned him All-Shore recognition and attracted the attention of Division I college programs.

Weise accepted a tennis scholarship to the University of Maryland, where he continued to compete at a high level. His state title remains one of the most prestigious individual athletic achievements in Manasquan High School history.
