Stewart Whitman was one of the premier offensive linemen in Manasquan High School history. A four-year football and baseball player, he earned 1st Team All Shore Conference and 1st Team All Monmouth County honors in both his junior (1972) and senior (1973) seasons at center and linebacker. In 1973 he was also named to the New York News All Star Team.
Whitman anchored the offensive line on the back-to-back undefeated teams of 1972 and 1973 — teams that combined for an 18-0 record across two seasons, winning the Shore Conference championship both years. His sustained dominance during that stretch earned him a place on the Asbury Park Press All Decade Team of the 1970s — one of the highest long-term honors in Shore Conference football.
Whitman continued his football career at Southern Connecticut State College.

Back-to-back 1st Team All Shore OL on the 18-0 championship teams — and All Decade 1970s.
