Ted Raffetto

2018

Football

Ted Raffetto played football for the Manasquan Warriors during one of the program's most celebrated eras. A member of the Class of 1973, he was a key contributor to the back-to-back undefeated squads that went 9-0 in both 1972 and 1973 under head coach Jack Hawkins — a stretch of perfection that has never been equaled in program history.

In the fall of 1972, Raffetto was recognized as co-recipient of the Peter Blocksom Roetzel Award, the team's highest individual honor given to the most outstanding player of the season, sharing it with standout running back Steve Merli. That 1972 squad was named Class B Champions. The following season, the Warriors again ran the table at 9-0 and captured the Shore Conference title.

Raffetto's contributions to the Warriors program were recognized decades later with his induction into the Manasquan High School Athletic Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2018.
