Tyler Saito set the standard for two-sport excellence at Manasquan High School. As a four-year varsity baseball player and senior captain, he compiled a .353 career batting average and a remarkable .768 career slugging percentage — simultaneously holding the school's single-season home run record (8) and career home run record (13) at the same time.

Saito's baseball accolades were earned early — he was named All Shore Media Freshman of the Year in 2009, and by 2010 earned the APP 1st Team All C Division, All Shore Media 1st Team, and Star Ledger 1st Team All-Monmouth honors. He was also part of the 2010 Carpenter Cup Championship team at Citizens Bank Park.

As Manasquan's quarterback for three seasons, Saito ranked 2nd all-time in single-season touchdown passes (20), single-season passing yards (1,725), and single-season passing attempts (180), while ranking 3rd all-time in career passing yards (2,841), career touchdown passes (25), and career completions (176). His senior football season earned him the Peter Blocksom Roetzel Hall of Fame Award and the Coast Star Offensive Player of the Year.
