William Robbins was one of the most gifted all-around athletes in Manasquan history, earning seven varsity letters in football, basketball, and track. His speed on the track was exceptional — his 10.1-second time in the 100-yard dash was the second fastest in New Jersey, behind only Frank Budd, who went on to set a world record.
Robbins also contributed to the 1955 CJ Group III State Basketball Championship, giving him a state title to go along with his individual track achievements. His combination of speed, athleticism, and competitive success made him a standout of his era.

Second only to a world record holder — and a state basketball champion too.
